Leaders at ChildStrive proudly display their CARE site designation.

The Snohomish County Children’s Wellness Coalition knows how difficult it can be to find effective tools

among the thousands of documents that turn-up any time you use an internet search engine.

Our experts – we are a coalition of mental health, early learning, k-12 education, prevention and resilience professionals – have hand-picked a selection of tools, resources and information to help your organization on its journey to becoming trauma-informed.

We hope you’ll use and share about this site as you move from intuition to intention, transitioning from hoping you can make a difference to knowing you can! On this site you will find:

Essential Learning

Childhood trauma impacts learning, health and job performance. What you don’t know about the adverse childhood experiences study and resilience is impacting your work.

Community C.A.R.E.

Compassion, Appreciation, Resilience and Empowerment (CARE) is a regional trauma-informed approach initiative that shifts organizations toward a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing. Through training, policy change and technical support, earning a CARE site designation means your organization:

  • Recognizes the prevalence and impact of trauma to the individual and society
  • Recognizes the signs and symptoms of trauma in your clients, customers, staff and students
  • Responds by putting knowledge into practice
  • Resists the re-traumatization of clients and staff

Check out the Community C.A.R.E. sections of our website to learn how you can lead this vital shift in your organization.

Self-Care

Having the tools to turn around a challenging class room won’t be enough if your staff isn’t practicing good self-care. Before we can help others, we have to help ourselves. This module will connect you with self-assessment, preventative and immediate self-care tools.
