C.A.R.E. Organizations

Nathan Ray hangs his CARE site window cling at EmberHope Youthville after completing CARE training.

The Snohomish County Children’s Wellness Coalition is working with our partner agencies and Snohomish County Human Services to recognize organizations for implementing trauma-informed practices and policies. Sites that earn an official C.A.R.E. designation have committed to staff professional development, participation in ongoing learning communities and operational change that focuses on compassion, appreciation, resilience and empowerment.

Our first cohort of organizations committed to receiving three days of training in March, 2018. To earn their designation, participants commit to:

  • Completing a professional development training focused on trauma-informed practices and policies;
  • Forming a Trauma Informed Leadership Team (TILT) within their organization to guide, recommend and implement trauma-informed principles and practices; and,
  • Participating in quarterly learning community meetings, called C.A.R.E. Communities, for at least one calendar year.

In return, the Coalition has committed to providing ongoing support to participants and their TILT teams via our C.A.R.E. Communities. C.A.R.E. Communities are intended to promote accountability, encouragement and shared expertise as we learn from each others successes and challenges.

To date, more than 26 agencies have earned their C.A.R.E. designation. We wish to express our gratitude and support to:
